Good article on the increase in cop related shootings this year. Georgia is supposed to be increasing funding by $60 million for mental health and substance abuse programs in this year's budget, but how that translates into actual help is always suspect. What's really missing is a return to the type of programs that were once offered by the Georgia Mental Health Institute before they were shut down. Music, poetry, and other meaningful therapeutic approaches that meant something to the indigent mentally ill population.
